We preach Christ and Him Crucified

DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

Scripture – We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments – inspired, God-breathed, and infallible in the original manuscripts – are to be received as the authoritative word of God to which we must submit on all matters of doctrine, life, and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Romans 15:4, John 16:12-13)

The Godhead – We believe in one holy Triune God, eternally existing in Three Persons as Father, Son, and Spirit, being of one undivided essence, equal in power and glory, infinite in nature and being, having the same attributes and perfections. (Jude 1:20-21, 2 Corinthians 13:14, and Matthew 28:19)

Christ and His Work – We believe the Lord Jesus Christ, eternally begotten, not created, became human without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary and living a sinless life, He came to be the mediator between man and God in order to reveal the invisible God and redeem sinful man. (John 1:1, Colossians 1:15, and Luke 1:35)

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ, in His sufferings and death on the cross, accomplished once and for all our redemption as a representative, vicarious, and substitutionary sacrifice; and that our justification is made sure by His literal and physical resurrection from the dead. (Romans 3:24, Ephesians 2:13-18, and 1 Peter 1:3-5)

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where, as our High Priest, He represents us, intercedes for us continually, and is our advocate before the Father. (Acts 1:9-10; Hebrews 7:25, 9:24; Romans 8:34; and 1 John 2:1-2)

Humanity – We believe human beings were created by God and declared “very good”, made in the Image of God, sinless, and in perfect peace with God. Yet, when our first parents sinned against God, the entire race fell, and this sin nature spread to all mankind, alienating us from the life of God. Our sinfulness has radically stained all human nature and left us utterly unable to save ourselves. (Genesis 1:26, 31; Romans 5:12; Psalm 51:5; and Ephesians 2:12)

Salvation – We believe salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for believers. (Ephesians 2:8-10; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; and 1 Peter 1:18-19)

Church – We believe the Church, which is the body of Jesus Christ in this world and His bride, is a spiritual organism made up of all those redeemed by God. (Ephesians 1:22-23 and 1 Corinthians 12:12-14)

We believe that the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament scriptures. (Acts 14:27, 18:22, 20:17; 1 Timothy 3:1-3, and Titus 1:5-11)

We believe in the autonomy of the local churches, that they are to be free of any external authority and control. (Acts 13:1-4, 15:19-31, 20:28; Romans 16:1,4; 1 Corinthians 3:9, 16,  5: 4-7, 13; and 1 Peter 5:1-4)

We recognize believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper as scriptural means of testimony for the church in this age (Matthew 28:19, 20; Acts 2:41, 42; Acts 18:8; and 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

The Second Advent of Christ – We believe in the “blessed hope,” the personal, imminent coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Zechariah. 14:4-11; and Revelation 19:11-16, 20:1-6)
